ABOUT INFRASTRUCTURE OF RV COLLEGE

COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
In 1994, the department of computer science and engineering was founded. The department provides two postgraduate programs, M.TECH(CSE) and M.TECH(CNE), in addition to three undergraduates programs, B.E(CSE), B.E(CSE-data science), and B.E(CSE- Cyber security)(CNE). Additionally, the department offers a Ph.D. and M.SC by research in several computer sciences and engineering specializations.
CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The department, one of the earliest branches of RVCE, was founded in 1963 with the UG program (B.E. in civil engineering). To keep up with technical innovation and business needs, the department has been providing high-quality instruction. The undergraduate program now accepts 120 students and is associated with Visvesvaraya Technology University (VTU) Belagavi with an autonomous status. In 2006 and 2009, the department launched two postgraduate programs through VTU, one in structural engineering and the other in highway technology, with a combined intake of 36 students.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The department launched the undergraduate program (B.E. in mechanical engineering) in 1963 with an initial enrollment of 40 students and affiliation to Bangalore University. The enrollment at this time is 120, and it is associated with VTU, Belagavi, with autonomy beginning in 2007-2008.
CHEMICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The Department of Chemical Engineering was founded in 1982 to address the needs of the newly expanding subject of Chemical Engineering. Since its founding, it has received two NBA accreditations, first for five years (2003-2008 and 2008-2013) and once for three years (2015-2018 and 2018-2021). The department provides graduate-level BE chemical engineering, MSc (Eng), and Ph.D. research programs.
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The UG and PG students’ academic and soft skills needs are met by the electrical and electronics engineering department. Their placement in both fundamental and software organizations is facilitated by the information they have acquired during the courses.
MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS DEPARTMENT
The first PG program to be launched at RVCE was the department of master of computer applications, which was founded in 1997. RVCE currently provides one PG program in computer application (MCA) and two research programs (M.Sc. by research and Ph.D. degree) affiliated with VTU, Belagavi.
ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNUCATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
This department was founded in 1992 and currently offers one UG program, two PG programs (M.Tech. in digital communication engineering and RF and microwave engineering) with educational independence, and a Ph.D. program with association to VTU.
AEROSPACE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
This department was established in 2015 with a 60- person accepted enrolment to offer a UG degree in aerospace engineering. This new program was started with the primary goal of providing high-quality education in aerospace engineering with a focus on research, innovative solutions, and business for societal synergy.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND MACHINE LEARNING DEPARTMENT
This department helps to provide engineering skills to the students through an experiential learning approach to prepare them for tackling real-world challenges. And to foster a pleasant working atmosphere while upholding the highest standards of morals and ethics in both personal and professional life.
BIOTECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
The VTU, Belgaum-affiliated department of biotechnology (B.E. program) began with 30 admissions in 2002 and increased to 60 admissions in 2007. the national board of accreditation has granted the department a three-year (UG) accreditation (2015-2018). In 2007, the B.E. biotechnology program gained autonomy, and a separate board of studies (BOS) was established with representation from academia, business, and alumni to design and develop the curriculum. In 2008, the VTU research center for Ph.D. and M.Sc. in engineering opened. With a sanctioned intake of 18 students each in the years 2011 and 2012, the department launched two PG programs, M.Tech in biotechnology and M.Tech in bioinformatics. 2016 saw the autonomous status of M.Tech. Programs.
ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Beginning in 1972, the electronics and communication engineering department now offers one undergraduate program, two PG programs (MTech. in VLSI design and embedded systems and MTech. in communication systems) with independent academic standing, and a Ph.D. program with affiliation to VTU.
ELECTRONICS AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
This department was founded in 1981 with an initial intake of 40 students. Currently, there are 60 students enrolled. In the year 2014, the instrumentation technology was renamed “Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering”
INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING AND MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
In 1985, Bangalore University associated itself with the department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE). With a concentration on industrial engineering and production engineering, the department offered a four-year UG BE (IPE) degree program. The department changed from traditional business practices to contemporary engineering and management interventions in 1992, when it was renamed “Department of Industrial Engineering and Management”. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
In the year 2000, the RVCE department of information science and engineering (ISE) was founded. The department offers a bachelor of engineering (B.E.) program under an autonomous system, as well as M.Tech programs in software engineering and information technology, which were given autonomous status in 2016. Additionally, the department grants Ph. Ds in a range of information science, software engineering, and similar fields of study.
